Everything You Need to Know About CoolSculpting®

Everything You Need to Know About CoolSculpting®

Home | Fat Reduction | Everything You Need to Know About CoolSculpting®

CoolSculpting® has become one of the hottest (or coolest, depending on who you ask) trends in body sculpting. With it’s incredible results, and ability to target trouble areas, it’s not hard to understand why. We’re breaking down everything you need to know, so you can CoolSculpting® with confidence.

What is CoolSculpting®?

CoolSculpting® is a revolutionary procedure that uses cooling technology to freeze away fat cells. This no-fuss, painless treatment is a non-invasive way to address unwanted fat. CoolSculpting® targets subcutaneous fat cells. Subcutaneous fat is the layer of fat that you can pinch: aka the cells underneath your skin that live inside the skin tissue. These cells are highly susceptible to extreme cold, and easy to kill with the right procedure and correct technology.

Who is a good candidate for CoolSculpting®?

Despite the ease of the process, not everyone is a good candidate. CoolSculpting® is not a weight-loss treatment. Thus, the best candidates are those who already exercise regularly and follow a healthy diet, with specific trouble areas where they’d like to reduce fat. In fact, the best candidates are already close to their ideal weight.

Why do it?

The innovative treatment is a great option for stubborn fat that won’t budge even with proper exercise and diet. If you’ve been counting calories, hitting Orange Theory and still aren’t seeing results, this is the procedure for you. As an alternative to surgery or other higher-risk options that require downtime, this is a great procedure. Expect no downtime between visits and incredible results! It’s genuinely that easy.

Where can I have CoolSculpting® performed?

CoolSculpting® is FDA-cleared to treat a lot of areas, so you don’t have to worry about safety! The treatment is cleared for:

  • Submental (under the chin)
  • Submandibular (under the jawline)
  • Thigh
  • Abdomen and flank
  • Bra fat
  • Back fat
  • Underneath the buttocks (also known as banana roll)
  • Upper arms.

How does CoolSculpting® work?

Once a fat cell is killed, it is permanently gone*— that’s part of what makes CoolSculpting® such an appealing procedure. When you go in for your appointment, the applicator is placed on the treatment area.

Expect to feel to feel a bit of suction and a cooling sensation at first— think uncomfortable, but not painful. However, as the area is numbed the feeling will fade. During your treatment you’ll have plenty of time to Netflix and chill (literally), catch up on emails or sit back and relax. The treatment time will depend on the area, but expect to stop in for anywhere from 30 minutes up to two hours.

After the procedure comes the massage. While not as relaxing as a traditional rubdown, this helps to break up the treated fat cells and accelerate fat reduction. CoolSculpting® has been shown to reduce fat up to 25%* in the treated area, but pending your treatment area it may take more than one session to see your desired results.

Regardless, it pays to be patient! It will take a few weeks to see your final results, with peak results occurring 90 days after the procedure.* And don’t worry, if you gain weight following the treatment it will still distribute evenly, so you won’t need to worry about distorted proportions or appearance.
