Kybella®
Kybella® is an FDA-approved, non-surgical, injectable treatment that we provide at our Pasadena location. It is used to improve the appearance of submental fullness, or what is often referred to as a “double chin.”*
Deoxycholic acid is a natural acid found in the human body that aids in digestion by dissolving fat for intestinal absorption. In the same way, Kybella® works to reshape and reduce the appearance of the double chin by treating the fat cells beneath the chin so that they should no longer store fat.*
What does the procedure involve?
Kybella® treatments are a non-surgical procedure that can be completed in a matter of minutes, without the risk or recovery time needed for more extensive procedures such as liposuction or facial rejuvenation surgery.*
Dr. Hany Zaki will simply inject the Kybella® into the fat tissue beneath the chin and within moments, patients can move on with the rest of their day as usual. Side effects are generally very mild with possible bruising, redness, and swelling and should not last more than one week.*
While improvement is often visible after your first treatment, the need for multiple treatments varies depending on the severity of the submental fullness.* Final results are typically found within 2-6 treatments, which are each completed at least 1 month apart from each other.*
